Shark-A-Tac™ MagnaCut

Shark-A-Tac™ MagnaCut

A Tactical Knife for Everyday Use

The Shark-A-Tac® is a tribute to the now-vintage tactical knife scene of the early 2000s. The Y2K era gave rise to knife designs that shifted focus from traditional everyday tasks to mission-driven urban survival and rescue duties, cementing "tactical" as a definitive category within the knife industry. The Demko Shark-A-Tac® gives a nod to the tactical culture of the era while providing a refreshingly clean design that's built performance first. Featuring the notoriously strong Demko Shark-Lock®, this knife represents the union of tactical concepts and true capability.

Glass Breaker

The Shark-A-Tac® has a purposeful tactical element not found in previous Demko knife models: a glass breaker built into the backspacer. Available in a pointed carbide "spike" or a rounded "soft touch" carbide ball, either glass breaker option easily breaks glass with minimal effort. The high hardness and small surface area of the carbide glass breaker causes glass to shatter with relatively little force. Having a true glass breaker on this knife makes the Shark-A-Tac® ideal for anyone in military, rescue, and first-responder roles. Carrying it as your EDC means that you have an emergency rescue tool on your person at all times that can help save yourself or others in vehicle accidents.

For those who don't want a glass breaker tool, the Shark-A-Tac® can be optioned with traditional standoffs instead of the glass breaker backspacer.

Universal Grip

The Shark-A-Tac® is a deviation from Andrew Demko's typical knife design language. While all of Andrew's handle designs focus on secure grip and comfort for a wide range of hand sizes, the Shark-A-Tac® handle is a truly neutral shape. The lack of finger grooves and return at the end of the handle means that people with any hand size can comfortably use this knife in many grip positions during a wide range of tasks.

Slicey Blade

The Shark-A-Tac® is designed with a slim, tall blade geometry that is best for slicing. Important in tactical situations when every second matters, slicey knife blades aid in rescuing a person out of a seat belt or cutting rope in a backwoods emergency. The CPM MagnaCut steel provides excellent edge retention over time, is easy to resharpen, and remains tough enough for hard use. Its stainless properties help reduce the amount of time it takes to maintain the knife in damp conditions or adverse weather.
